The Team at RCM Products, headed up by Andrew Baines is dedicated to producing the highest quality products and delivering the very best customer service experience. All members of the team play a vital role within the business and teamwork across the company has helped RCM Products to become a leading provider of Air Supply Grilles, Louvres and Diffusers.
Andrew Baines - Managing Director & Owner
Andrew studied at Oxford University and qualified as a Mechanical and Automotive Production Engineer. Early in his career he worked his way to the top of his profession in the motor sport world with Aston Martin playing a significant role in their 1989 Le Mans contest.
A resourceful, hard-working, hands on and dedicated engineer with considerable management experience and an interest in continuous improvement; having worked for RCM for 17 years he took a leap of faith and acquired RCM in 2012, saving jobs and the RCM name.
The principle behind RCM is very personal to Andrew. During his time at RCM he has seen the company and the employees, including himself, experience some particularly difficult periods, his goal is to see RCM back where it was in its heyday. To achieve this, he needs to start from the ground up. He wants to build a business that people want to work in, are proud to work in. This takes time and commitment, it will not be overnight and it cannot be done by just one person, it needs all the whole team to be involved and to work towards it.
Steve Brown - Operations Manager
Steve has been in engineering for over 35 years. Involved for many years in the building services trade, he started his working career as a trainee sheet metal worker. Over the last few years Steve’s time has been spent as Operations, then Development Director in the air conditioning manufacturing industry.
Outside of work his focus is on something he feels extremely passionate about, building and riding great Café Racers. The term refers to a style of motorcycle that was and is used for fast rides from one "transport café or coffee bar to another. Occasionally when the British weather allows, he will ride one into work, and we get to see and hear what a Café Racer is all about.
Ian Biddle - Sales Manager
Ian joined RCM in 2010 and saw the development of the company as a challenge, with over 24 years’ experience within the grille and diffuser industry, a crucial member of the management team, he not only liaises between customers and production but at times, when necessary, can be found in production assembly or packing to ensure a job meets the customers despatch deadline.
Outside of the working environment, Ian enjoys watching Speedway and non-league football side St Albans City, and enjoys listening to music, Bon Jovi helps him to relax.
Tony Mitchell - Business Development Manager
Tony joined the company in May 2014 in the role of Business Development Manager. Working with the sales and production team his responsibilities cover customer relationship management, business development and the delivery of growth targets. He has worked in the industry for upwards of 20 years starting as a Production Planner. His subsequent roles have been Planning Manager, Pre-Production Manager and Production Manager.
In his leisure time he enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
Matt Baker - Estimator
Matt’s joined RCM in October 2012 as a general operator in the factory, this was Matt’s first job from leaving college. In the spring of the following year he moved into the office and joined the Sales Department dealing with estimating and quoting.
Outside of work Matt enjoys watching sport, mainly football, listening to music and reading.
Denise Cant - Office Manager
Denise joined the Company in January 2007 as a Sales Administrator. During her time with RCM she has taken on many roles and gained invaluable experience within most departments. She is now the Office Manager responsible for accounts, personnel and the continued efficient operation of the office. Denise has previously worked in the banking, finance industry and IT industry.
April Parkes - Purchasing
April joined the company 7 years ago as an Office Junior. She is now in charge of Procurement. She has gained an immeasurable amount of experience during her time at RCM, including accounts work and despatch.
April enjoys spending time with her young son and nieces and enjoys family days out.
Rob Smith - Production Engineer
Robert has a wealth of experience within the manufacture of grilles and diffusers having been in the industry in excess of 30 years. He has held a number of positions within production engineering, working his way to his current position of Production Manager. He project engineered the prestigious build at One Hyde Park.
Socially he enjoys watching Stevenage FC and outdoors activities including walking and sailing.
Sally Baines - Business Support
Sally joined RCM in 2016 and initially supported various departments within the business, her main focus now is on the marketing of RCM. This is Sally’s first job in the manufacturing industry having been in financial services for many years, her last role as a compliance officer and before joining RCM in a renewable energy company.
Lee Knagg - Director RCM Air Products
Lee is a Director of RCM Air Products and is based in the North of England. Lee has been involved with the HVAC industry & products for over 20 years and has worked for some of the leading names within the industry. Lee started his career in 1995 as an office junior working his way up to an Internal Estimator for grilles, diffusers and external louvres. During his career, he continued to move upwards where he acquired considerable and valuable industry knowledge. During this time, he moved into external sales increasing his regional sales significantly.
Away from work Lee is married with 2 children and enjoys movies, TV and football. He follows Liverpool but we won’t hold that against him.
Andrew Bowcott - Director RCM Air Products
Andy is a Director of RCM Air Products and has worked in the Air Distribution Industry for 33 years enjoying a wide range of roles within the companies he has worked for. His career started in Production Planning moving on to estimating. He gained valuable experience on the manufacturing floor taking this knowledge into external sales. Andy has also spent time onsite and has project managed many jobs throughout the United Kingdom.
Outside of work, Andy enjoys family time, and is married with two grown up children and two young grandchildren. Andy loves to holiday (USA & Cruises) and follows many sports, including football, rugby league, cricket and enjoys walking, playing golf and Crown Green Bowling.
